THIS IS OUR HOLIDAY . . .
The Holiday of WORKING
MEN and WOMEN!

This Labor Day, tens of thousands of us are speaking out for the freedom to choose a union - a right of all workers in this country, guaranteed by the National Labor Relations Act!

As you know, workers join together to form their unions to win better pay, benefits and basic rights such as job safety and security and a voice on the job. Click here if you'd like to take a quiz and test your knowledge about how the "Union Difference" truly affects working men and women.

However, employers routinely block workers' right to choose a union—using such egregious tactics as harassment, intimidation, coercion and even firing workers. Click here if you'd like to take a quiz and test your knowledge about how some employer's try to influence their employee's to remain unrepresented.

BUT WE ARE FIGHTING BACK!

Here are a few new resources:

1) Take a look at the new flash introduction to the AFL-CIO website around the Voice@Work theme. Hear workers talk about why they form unions and what employers do to prevent them.

Click here to learn what a union is and why it's essential to all working men and women, no mater what occupation they're in.

2) The Economic Policy Institute has released a new study called "How Unions Help All Workers." This report examines the effect of unions on wages, fringe benefits, total compensation, pay inequality and workplace protections. The report can be viewed by clicking here .

3) A new Gallup Poll says 54 percent of Americans think unions are good for the economy, and 58 percent think they're good for employers! The report can be viewed by clicking here.

If you have any questions that you would like and honest answer regarding workers' rights or how to form a union in your workplace, feel free to drop us a note by clicking here.
